Biotechnology finishing school sanctioned by Government of Karnataka.

To promote biotechnology sector, the Department of IT and BT has chosen 10 institutions to establish finishing schools across the state, in which The oxford college of Science is selected as one among 10. The finishing schools which are to be set up in state by Government of Karnataka will equip graduate and post graduate students with skills necessary to make them employable and industry ready. The Oxford college of Science has been sanctioned with Rs. 1 crore from the state government. The state government will provide financial assistance for the cost of equipment and instruments for the BT finishing schools, subject to a maximum of Rs. 1 crore. The courses will be conducted over duration of 1 year, which includes 6 months of coursework and 6 months of internship.
