Department of Civil Engineering
The department of civil engineering was established in the year 2008. Over the years the department has grown strongly. The department offers bachelors of engineering program in civil engineering and Master of Technology program in structural engineering affiliated to VTU Belgaum. The department produces civil engineers with high academic excellence and practical/industrial expertise and this is possible with the team of qualified, experienced professionals and dedicated teaching faculty available in the department.
The department strives to provide a supportive environment for the diverse community from all over India and abroad. The students are encouraged to participate in research projects and to peruse higher studies.
The objectives of the under graduate program objectives are to develop:
- Graduates to tackle professional challenges at the intersection of the built and natural environment.
- Successful graduates are recognized as innovative and adaptive leaders in academic, research and private sector fields and Entrepreneurs.
- Graduates with the skills of problem solving, critical thinking, reasoning, written, oral and graphical communication and team building.
The faculty is well motivated and takes personal care of the students and counsels them at regular intervals. They also inform the parents/guardians about the progress of their ward regularly. Academic monitoring committee chaired by class teacher’s review the academic progresses smoothly as per the academic calendar of the Department. Extra tutorial classes/remedial classes are conducted to take more personal care of the weaker students. Personality development of students is taken care in addition to English communication classes.

Technical Activities
Every semester, technical seminars, guest lectures and workshops are conducted by inviting experienced academicians and Industrial experts. National seminar on ‘Emerging Trends in Civil Engineering’ will be conducted in April 2012
