DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY
Department of Chemistry has a modern Laboratory well equipped with necessary glassware, chemicals and instruments required for conducting chemistry experiments for first year B.E. students as per the syllabus prescribed by Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum. The Department is headed by Dr.Surekha M and has its all two faculty with doctorate degrees in their respective fields. All the staff is committed to quality education and has rich experience in teaching for several years. The department is also recognized as Research center by VTU, Belgaum. Staff as a fact, have as many as 32 research papers published to their credit in journals of international repute. Two students have registered for their Ph.D degree under the guidance of Dr. Surekha M of the Department. Faculty is proficient in the field of polymer membrance science, reaction Kinetics and electrochemistry.

DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS
The Department of Mathematics is one of the pioneering departments of the institution. Mathematics being the back bone of Engineering Education, the department is lending yeomen service by training young engineers with finite novices of Engineering Mathematics. The department strives to provide quality education to a diverse student community, which totals well over more than 1000 students. Engineering courses focus on the principles, methods and applications and providing the Mathematical foundations for all of these in their particular branch of Engineering. The department has well qualified and has strong preparation in many fields of Mathematics plus a commitment to excellence in teaching. The department has 13 faculty members headed by Prof. Mallikarjun Kattimani M.Phil., Ph.D., who has rich experience in India and abroad. He was Head of the Department of Mathematics in the University of Eritrea, where he served for a period of 3 years. He has published several research papers in reputed National and International Journals.
