Anatomy is a basic medical science. A sound knowledge of Anatomy is a pre-requisite for Dental and Medicine Studies. The Department of Anatomy takes care of this by means of Theory classes and practicals, which are conducted during the first year of the Dental course. Lecturers are delivered on the subjects of Gross Anatomy, Ostheology, Histology, and Embryology. The students undergo Practical Training in Anatomy by way of dissecting the human body with emphasis on the head and neck region. The study of microscopic structure of the tissues of the body is undertaken during the Histology practicals.
