Pedodontics is a vast field that deals with the overall dental health of children including those with special healthcare needs. It comprises of not only the treatment aspects, but also education, motivation and prevention of dental diseases.

Our duty here is to treat the patient from their preschool age through their late teenage period and hence regular followup and maintenance is given special consideration.

We have a vast spacious and a bright clinic with a total of 40 dental chairs and an area of 5250 Sq.ft., of which U.G. clinic is of 3000 Sq.ft. and the P.G. clinic is 2250 Sq.ft. The children and the parents are welcomed into the clinic with a soothing and muffled music, the aquarium and the landscape at the entrance all of which add to the warmth and is a source of entertainment.

The department has an exclusive play area of about 1000 Sq.ft., which includes definite settings, and objects of interest for all ages of children. This playpen is also equipped with attractive books, magazines, toys and games. Children are also entertained with cartoon and other animated presentations, which depict the different procedures done in the clinic in order to alleviate anxiety or fear. Hence the decor of the clinic distract the patients and provide a relaxed atmosphere to carry out the various types of treatment.

In dentistry for children, we emphasize on prevention, which is he ultimate goal for all medical sciences. Hence, counseling of parents and children on diet and behaviour is done for the prevention of tooth decay. Our treatment procedures include filling of teeth, root canal treatment, crowns, cleaning of teeth, removal of teeth and minor surgical procedures. Our department also provides treatment done under sedation for children with special needs, like handicapped and highly uncooperative children.
