Electronics and Communication has become an integral part
of technology development in all fields – computers, software, aeronautics,
bio-technology, instrumentation, marine to space research & exploration etc.
Hence the department has to provide enhanced and focused training to prepare the
young engineer to contribute to the developments in these fields. The department
educates the students in microcontrollers, VLSI, VHDL, communications, DSP, networking,
programming and most importantly, on fundamental semiconductor components and
electromagnetic wave concepts. The laboratories of the department are well
equipped. Periodic upgradation of the labs with addition of latest test instruments,
software tools & hardware kits ensure students’ exposure to the best
in classroom and laboratory training. The department has the following well-equipped

The latest
upgradation to the laboratory facilities is the Microcontroller and VHDL Labs. The
department has well-qualified and experienced faculty members headed by Prof.
R.Sudha Sadanand, a first rank holder in M.Tech from the National Institute of
Technology, Calicut. Prof. R. Partha who has joined the faculty has 24 years of
telecommunication industry experience and an R & D background in wireless
communication.
