About The Oxford School (I.C.S.E.)

The Oxford English School has been affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi.

Eligibility criteria

Pre-Primary classes

  • Lower Kindergarten (LKG): the child should have completed 2 years 10 months to 3 years of age.
  • Upper Kindergarten (UKG): the child should have completed 3 years 10 months to 4 years of age.
  • Preparatory: the child should have completed 4 years 10 month-5 years.
  • The age* is reckoned as on 1st June of the academic year of admission.

Admission procedure

A 'Child-Friendly' interview is conducted in the presence of parents.

PRIMARY, MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL CLASSES

Eligibility

  • For I standard 5 years 10 months to 6 years as on 1st June and should have completed Kindergarten.
  • For II standard to 10 standard the student should have passed in the previous class with Hindi as 2nd language.
  • For VI Standard to X Standard NRI students, an option of ‘French’ is offered as a second language instead of Hindi.

Admission procedure

Based on the performance in a 'Student–Friendly', conceptual and skill-based assessment questionnaire, followed by an interview with parents and the pupil.

The Syllabus and Examination Schedule

As prescribed by the board of council for the Indian School Certificate Examination.

ADMISSIONS

  1. Generally applications for admissions are accepted during the month of December.
  2. A pupil who has attended any recognized school previously cannot be admitted without a Transfer Certificate from the last school attended.
  3. All the students must appear for the Admission Test during the time of admission and only successful candidates will be admitted.
  4. At the time of admission, the entrance fee, tuition fees for the first term and all the special fees must be paid in advance.
  5. At the time of admission for Standard I to Standard X parents are requested to produce the T. C. duly signed by the Head of the Institution, and it should be counter signed by an Officer not below the rank of District Inspector of Schools of the Education Department of the State/ Union Territory concerned.
  6. In case of students studying in IXstd or Xstd  migrating from one ICSE affiliated school to another ICSE affiliated school, should produce the registration card issued by the council along with the T. C. of the Previous school.

PROMOTIONS

Promotion of a student to the next progressive class depends on the general progress during the year and not merely in the result of the Annual Examination. To be promoted a pupil must secure at least 40% Of marks in each subject. Attendance is also a major criteria for promotion.

In order to promote excellence in various activities apart from academics and for overall development of students, school encourages students to participate in various Co-Curricular activities and have streamlined certain activities through the school.

Entire school students from Std I to Std X are vertically grouped into following four houses to promote brotherhood and healthy competition. Such as:

Parents are informed to co-operate by supporting their wards to take active part in all the activities.

Projects

Projects for 20 marks are integrated part of ICSE syllabus. All the parents must support and encourage the wards to submit their projects on time.
